Dr. Stacey McCann: Middletown’s Beloved Educator and Visionary Leader Remembered
Dr. Stacey McCann, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for Middletown Public Schools, tragically passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at her home in Windsor, Connecticut. At 50 years old, Dr. McCann’s unexpected death has left the community in mourning. The Windsor Police Department reported that no foul play is suspected, and the cause of death is under investigation in coordination with the Chief Medical Examiner’s office .
Dr. McCann’s career in education spanned over 25 years, during which she held various roles, including teacher, literacy facilitator, assistant principal, principal, and executive principal. Before joining Middletown Public Schools in 2022, she served in Bloomfield for a decade. Her leadership in Middletown encompassed overseeing PreK-12 teaching and learning operations, curriculum development, and enrichment programs .
